Advance Alpha 4 Paramotor
Powered Paraglider | Paramotoring Wing
The Alpha 4 Paramotor is the latest entry level paramotoring wing from Advance.
Here is some info about the Advance Alpha 4 Paramotor from the manufacturer...
ALPHA 4 Paramotor
The coordinated takeoff behaviour of the ALPHA 4 becomes evident from the wing’s easy pull-up in light wind, the little brake needed to stabilise it and no tendency to overshoot. The damped profile and compact shape of the glider make it particularly stable in the air and provide a high degree of passive safety for both the beginner and the leisure pilot – with or without the engine.
The ALPHA 4 has a LTF/DHV 1 and EN-B certification. When fitted with paramotor risers sizes 25, 28, and 31 are certified for paramotoring by the German Ultralight Association DULV.
Convertible risers for the ALPHA 4
The optional motor risers for the ALPHA 4 are convertible, so they can be used for free flying as well. These risers have two hangpoints, about 10 cms apart. The higher ones are set up for motorised flight. (see picture)
The trimmers make it possible to get the best takeoff behaviour in light wind as well as compensate for the turning effect of the propeller. Cruising speed can also be trimmed out at any time. For free flight the trimmers can be led through the carabiners and secured out of the way.
The ALPHA 4 motor risers also have a traditional speed system, which provides for a useful speed increase. (see picture)
Advance Alpha 4 Paramotor > DULV-Certification
When fitted with the motor risers the DULV has certified the ALPHA 4 for unaccelerated flight in sizes 25, 28 and 31. The permitted weight ranges are shown below.
The DULV standard requires a compatibility test for each model size.
The LTF/DHV certificate and EN approval for the ALPHA 4 are also valid for free flight with motor risers provided that the lower hang points are used and the trimmers are stowed.
