This rugged pocket-size HT (Handheld Transceiver) is a perfect companion for outdoor activities.

For the DJ-V17, Alinco combines rugged polycarbonate materials, an ergonomic design and leading edge technology in an attractive, compact 5W VHF HT that is compatible to IPX7* so it's submersible 1m/3ft for 30 minutes (see IPX7 notes below)!

Unlike water-resistant radios you may have looked at before, the DJ-V17 has a large 40mm internal speaker so its audio is clean and crisp, not muffled. The superior speaker design provides 500mW max audio-output for high quality audio.

With a full range of features and choice of power options, this tough talker resists rain, dirt and dust.

Alinco DJ-V17E > 200 Memories

Plenty of memories for your favorite frequencies.

200 alphanumeric memory channels plus one call channel.

New two-touch repeater access uses a special memory channel to store the most common repeater-access parameters. To access the repeater, just push FUNC and RPT key so that the parameters temporarily overwrite the current repeater setting, even if you are in the CALL or memory-channels with different repeater settings.

Alinco DJ-V17E > Long-Lasting Battery Power

Special battery drain function avoids battery memory effect. By using this function, the radio automatically turns on the back-light, outputs low-level audio and turns off the battery save function to help discharge the remaining battery level before recharge.

Comes standard with a Ni-MH battery but also uses optional Li-ION and Ni-MH battery packs or AA dry cell case.

Alinco DJ-V17E > DTMF Autodialer with Memory (V-models only)

Includes nine autodial memories plus redial function.

NOTE : If you are wanting to use a standard Alinco/Icom two-pin type headset with the Alinco DJ-V17E, you will need to buy an Alinco EDS-10 speaker microphone cable adaptor so you can connect the headset to the Alinco DJ-V17E.

* IPX7 : The IEC 60529/IPX7 is an European system of test specification standards for classifying the degrees of protection provided by the enclosures of electrical equipment. An IPX7 designation means that the unit withstands immersion in one meter (approx 3ft) of still water for up to 30 minutes. The Alinco factory guarantees this feature for 1 year provided all the jack covers are properly and securely closed. However, Please understand that DJ-V17 is not an IPX8 (water-resistant) grade, NOT even IPX7 COMPLIANT (but compatible); water-pressure such as washing the unit with running water may cause damage to the unit and voids warranty. Never immerse the unit uselessly under the water. V/UHF signal does not propagate in water. If the unit is dropped in water, please pick it up immediately and wipe with a clean dry cloth.
