Full Face Freeflight Helmet for Paragliding & Hang Gliding

The Charly Insider is available in six sizes, with four different finishes and fourteen different colours. In all, it has 76 different size-colour options!!

A recipe for success for the world's best selling aviation helmet...

1. Take only the best ingredients: High quality Vinylester, fibreglass and kevlar facric. Do not use simple polyester and cheap fibreglass mats! 
2. These are processed in a high pressure metal mould with counter-mould. Not in a simple, open synthetic-mould. Only in this way can a high percentage of fabric use be guaranteed. 
3. By use of an annealing process, the strength of the synthetic material can be increased by up to 70% in comparison to hardening at room temperature! In this way it is possible to achieve an unbeatably light-weight, yet impact-resistant and robust outer shell. 
4. One should certainly not scrimp and save on the varnishing, otherwise the helmet will rapidly become scruffy. Therefore only anneal the most expensive enamels and the best varnishes in three (for Uni-Colours two) layers! 
5. For the impact-absorption material, top quality EPS-foam (made in Germany) should be utilised, otherwise either the helmet dimensions must be larger or one fails to fulfill the CE-certification for aviation helmets (HPG) (Caution: Certain helmets fulfill only the cycle and ski helmet norm)! 
6. Perfect fitting and maximum comfort can only be provided by a helmet that has been fully upholstered with endermic material and is available in 6 definite sizes. Adjustable internal head straps are more suitable for cycling helmets due to essential ventilation. 
7. When you put the helmet on, there should be as little to feel and see of it as possible. Please check out what we mean by a large field of vision. 
8. The chin strap must feel comfortable and keep the helmet safely on the head. 
9. Can you still communicate without difficulty when wearing the helmet? Are the sounds from the wind sufficient to judge wind speed, yet quiet enough, so that the VOX of your transistor radio still functions in flight? 
10. The interior should make it possible to put on glasses subsequently.

Charly Insider > Quality Guarantee

Some helmet manufacturers offer optically identical helmets in differing qualities. In open man-made material moulds, hand-laminated helmets can indeed be produced cheaply, they do not however come up to our standard of quality.

The consumer is unable to recognise the difference initially. Only a highly developed pressure process can guarantee a constant quality of the helmet shell with a high percentage of fibre and thus high elasticity and low weight.

We guarantee, that all Insider helmets are produced using a high pressure-pressing process with opposite mould in constant quality in accordance with the CE-norm.

The Charly Insider is available in 6 sizes:

The number in brackets indicates the head circumference in centimeters.

*XS and XXL sizes are only available in Uni-Colour or Bi-Colour options; they are not available in Soft-Colours or Carbon Look.

Charly Insider > Special Finishes

As well as the Uni-Colour and Bi-Colour options, the Charly Insider is available in two other special finishes: Soft-Colours and Carbon Look.

Charly Insider > Soft-Colours*

After applying the basic colour (red, blue, black) a silky smooth matt rubberising follows. The surface is scratch resistant* and dirt-repellant. Charly say: "Soft-Colours are also very fashionable by expensive motorcycle helmets."

*Flybubble note regarding Soft-Colours for the Charly Insider: We don't stock the Charly Insider in 'Soft Colours' due to the unreliable performance of the matt covering. If you really want Soft Colours (and accept the unreliable performance of the matt covering) then we can get these from Charly in about 2-3 weeks.

Charly Insider > Carbon Look

The Charly Insider helmets are now available with a 'Carbon Look' appearance.

To ensure an especially high resistance to scratching, the surface is additionally protected with DD-clear lacquer.
