Ultrasensitive Variometer with Adjustable Sound

Equipped with an ultrasensitive Variometer, the C-Pilot Pro features an adjustable tone gradation which allows the pilot to adjust the Vario sensitivity and audio according to their personal preferences. The sensitivity curve can be customized so that, for example, it could be set to be very sensitive up until a pre-determined climb rate, then less pressing or annoying over that value. In this way the C-Pilot Pro can avoid the "over-excited" sounds that some Varios make, sometimes even at relatively modest climb rates, which can be quite distracting to the pilot, due to the Vario's overtly-stressful audio, which can disturb their concentration, and so inhibit their ability to thermal optimally.

Fully Featured Flight Software & Customizable Graphical Interface

Navigation is handled by an optimized version of the well-known “Competition Pilot” flight software for Palm, as developed by physicist and researcher Vincenzo Piazza, which in its free version has already achieved optimal results. A great strong point of the C-Pilot Pro’s software is it’s totally customizable graphical interface, allowing every pilot to create their “OWN” personalised instrument, exactly as they want it to be, showing only the data they desire and removing all of the rest.

Advanced Management of Airspaces (AMA)

AMA will allow uploading worldwide airspace files in OpenAir (TM) format (free downloads available), setting up proximity alarms based on horizontal distance, vertical distance and time, filtering the airspaces depending on their class and altitude, and showing on the map all the airspaces superimposed to 2D terrain maps. When an alarm triggers, the corresponding airspace will be highlighted in the map and you will be shown the relevant info about it, including distance to the closest point.

Terrain Maps, Flight Task, Altitudes Scale & Self-Calibrating Altimeter

With 2D maps of the flight zone, with chromatic altitudes scale, and visible competition flight task, the C-Pilot Pro helps give an optimal evaluation and analysis of the flight and topography - especially useful in unfamiliar places! It has a self-calibrating altimeter via GPS elevation either at start-up, or by command.

Integrated 51 Channel GPS With Sampling Of 5 Times Per Second

An integrated GPS unit with 51 separated channels and a sampling of 5 positions per second (5 Hz) - the only free flight instrument to currently offer this - assures that you will always have the best reception with the C-Pilot Pro, even within poor coverage areas or under heavily overcast skies.

Li-Ion Battery, Operability Range & Charging Options

With a Li-Ion battery that gives 15 hours of autonomy, expandable with USB external battery package (further extends the standard autonomy of 15 hours) or with solar cells, the C-Pilot Pro offers enough battery life to be practicably usable, even on the longest flights – something which many other flight instruments fall down on. It has an operability range from -20°C to +70°C, and it will be possible to charge the instrument from the mains, in the car, and from a PC or notebook.

Data Down/Up Load Via Bluetooth, USB 2.0 & Serial, 1GB Flash Memory

Data download and upload can be done through 3 independent interfaces: Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and serial RS232 with 2.5 mm jack. The C-Pilot Pro has a 1 Gigabyte Flash Memory, and it's track uploading protocol has been highly optimized for ultra-fast uploads.

High Res Daylight-Readable 5.7” Colour Touch-Screen Display

All this, comes in impressive high resolution daylight-readable 5.7” colour display, the best and largest on the market, and provided with touch-screen technology in order to have minimum overall dimensions for maximum display size. It’s fair to say that no other free flight instruments in the world currently offers all the features that the C-Pilot Pro already does!

The C-Pilot Pro comes with a wall charger (with a continental two-prong plug), USB cable (USB to mini-USB), User Manual on a mini CD, security screw (for attaching a lanyard) and C-Bag (a large neoprene carrying case, with a rigid insert to protect your instrument's screen).

The C-Pilot PRO is covered by a two-year manufacturer's warranty. If something is wrong with it, Compass will fix or replace it.
