Its friendly behaviour from taking off to landing brings a true safety and comfort compromise, key ingredient to explore the skies with peace of mind.
More about Koyot 2
The Koyot 3 is a simple and emotive glider. It is the ideal partner for taking the first steps of this new adventure. Steady, secure and pleasant, it will also bring the necessary EN A performance touch to also enjoy cross country flights.
The internal structure design of the Koyot 3 makes it a very compact glider able to absorb the turbulences. The Koyot 3 will bring the needed comfort and safety levels in any situation to make the pilot feel confident and keep on progressing.
Fitted with the revolutionary Nitinol (TNT), the Koyot 3 profile will withstand many hours of ground handling, folding, repacking procedures and trips from one place to another without trouble.
Another technological improvement coming with this glider is the RAM Air Intake. The RAM provides optimized internal pressure for better airflow, and hence, improves the turbulence buffering ability of the wing as well as its capacity to fly at low air speeds. Also, it reduces the risk of collapsing while bringing better control and stability to the overall structure. A glider fitted with RAM has better internal pressure resulting in a steady and safer wing.
The Koyot 3 has a total of 20% line/meters reduction than the previous model. As a result, the wing is now lighter and easier to handle. The inertia of the glider is reduced and its ability to enter the air mass increased. It also has become easier to sort out the lines in preparation for takeoff.
For better identification during the pre-flight phase, the risers now come in different colours to differentiate right from left. The A riser is split ( Split-A ) to help in pulling effective ears. Moreover, the maillons come with thread locking protection.
The Koyot 3 is a soft wing to steer with the toggles, easy to turn and control. The break travel is 8% longer than with the Koyot 2, increasing the distance to the stall point, and hence promoting passive safety.
Overall, the Koyot 3 is a solid wing with really good gliding ratio and a wide speed range.
It is compact and robust but lightweight. With less weight the inertia is reduced, so the handling improved.
Any great adventure deserves a great beginning. Let’s start your own one with the Koyot 3!
Koyot 3, adventurer-to-be.
SLE (Structured Leading Edge)
The SLE provides more rigidity and stability along the span of leading edge but also allows full flexibility along the both the vertical and horizontal axis of each open cell. The SLE ensures ease of movement on the ground and high security in the air during turbulence and whilst flying at speed.
With the SLE system there is no longer a need to use large amounts of Mylar material to achieve leading edge reinforcement. This reduction in material has reduced the weight of the leading edge and the result is precise handling on the ground and easier launches.
The SLE also helps to prevent deformation of the leading edge Mylars and therefore with correct care will extend the life and efficiency of your glider.
In addition to the SLE, we work on new geometry and layout of the internal reinforcement. This new internal re-structuring offers better overall cohesion of the glider and incredible stability during turbulence.
TNT (Titanium technology)
Constantly innovating, we always are on the hunt, looking for the latest and best materials to helps us design optimal products. For this reason, and after an extensive evaluation of its benefits and qualities, we decided to be the firsts manufacturer to use Nitinol in our glider line.
Benefits
Nitinol is an alloy of 50% nickel and 50% titanium. This technology in our rods offers three major advantages of optimizing the performance of a paraglider, compared to those made out of Nylon:
- The addition of Nitinol rods in the profile, has the immediate result of substantially reducing the overall weight of the wing by about 13%.
- Nitinol has two very specific properties: shape memory and super elasticity. The flexible rods always regain their functional optimal shape, even after tight bending, no wrinkles or residual mechanical alterations affect their integrity.
- As a result, the wing's leading edge is then preformed on the ground and allows a uniform progressive inflation phase to take place, which considerably facilitates the takeoff. The wing surface is perfectly taut, wrinkle free and without parasitic cloth movements, the glide is thus optimized in all flight phases.
In addition, the rods are outfitted with plastic protectors at their ends to prevent fabric damage.
The Nitinol application has already become reality in some of our gliders such as Hook 4, the lkuma, the Peak 4, the Icepeak 8, the Skin or our light gliders (Skin P and Artik P).
RAM Air Intake
Constant improving
Evolution and constant improving in all our products is the essence of the DNA of Niviuk’s R&D team. Thanks to the new technologies created over recent years, we have conceived new and more evolved and higher performing gliders. In this context the RAM Air Intake technology should be pointed out.
The evolution of RAM Air Intake
Ram Air Intake technology allows an optimal position for the the air intakes (below the leading edge of the glider aligned with the intrados) to creates excellent internal pressure as well as an improving of the laminar flow on intrados. What’s the result? Gaining turbulent air absorption in the leading edge, more consistency in variable speed and a better performance while assuring maximum security.
Technology, a priority for Niviuk
For us, giving importance to small details means continuing working towards our goal. It means keeping focused on technology as a priority. It means provide innovation and quality to all pilots.

Niviuk Koyot 3 reviews
"I had the pleasure to ridge-soar the Koyot-3 from Niviuk for several hours recently. A very nice wing indeed. It has SLE (Structured Leading Edge) technology; trailing-edge gathering system; thin risers; beautiful double-half-moon cell openings; 3D shaping at the leading edge; and ball-bearings for the brake lines. The famous Nitinol wires are very thin and soft that you almost don't notice them. But they held out very nicely so far.
Koyot-3 launches completely unproblematically even in a horrible rotor, to say nothing about normal conditions. In the air it feels a little faster and a little more agile than, say, an average EN-A wing, but still very stable and reassuring. The minimum sink rate and the glide ratio feel---subjectively, of course---very good. […] In conclusion, a very sorted wing indeed, the Koyot 3”.
