Sick of breaking flimsy PTTs? Annoyed by buttons that don't reach, don't work, or are stuck to your head? So were we. After years of teaching, guiding and working with radios we finally found one that did everything we wanted and, better still, lasted more than a season.

The XConnect headset is a two-piece boom mike that integrates with either full face or open face helmets. The system is made from a tough, 3.5mm rubber-coated wire, sprung coiled to absorb the inevitable pulls and tugs that happen when youíre using them. The button feeds down your jacket arm and velcros to your finger making chat instant and stress-free.

Make sure you select the correct type of jack for your radio:

• Alinco/Icom standard two pin
• Yaesu single-pin
• Kenwood standard two pin - Our supplier says these are no longer available

Flybubble Paragliding note: We have used the XConnect headsets for ourselves extensively and has found them to be very good headsets. The boom mike means they work particularly well with open-faced helmets as you can position the mike close to your mouth. The quality of these headsets is very good but, as with all things made from wires and cables, they need to be treated with care (as with all headsets). The XConnect are very good headsets, used and recommended by us (as are the Sandpiper headsets).
